OUR PROGRAMS & SCHEDULE
Beach Cities Montessori offers flexible scheduling and developmentally appropriate programs for children ages 2 through 6. Whether your child is just beginning their Montessori journey or preparing for kindergarten, we have a program designed to meet them exactly where they are.
School Hours & Schedule Options
We're open Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, year-round (excluding holidays). We offer three schedule options to fit your family's needs:
Half-Day Program — 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Ideal for younger children or families easing into a school routine. Includes the full three-hour Montessori work cycle, plus outdoor time and snack.
Full-Day Program — 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Our most popular option. Includes lunch, rest time, and an afternoon enrichment period with art, music, or extended outdoor play.
Extended Care — 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Available for families who need after-school care. Children enjoy free play, small-group activities, and snack in a relaxed, mixed-age setting.
Programs by Age
Each program is designed around the developmental needs and sensitive periods of its age group. Children stay in the same classroom for multiple years, building deep relationships with their teachers and peers.
Coming Soon – Toddlers (18-30 months)
A gentle first step into the Montessori world. This program offers toddlers a nurturing, prepared environment to explore hands-on materials, build practical life skills, and develop language, movement, and independence — all at their own pace.
What your toddler will experience:
• A classroom prepared specifically for 18–30 month olds
• Hands-on materials that build coordination, concentration, and a love of learning
• Practical life skills woven into everyday moments — washing hands, feeding themselves, tidying up
• Teachers who observe closely and introduce new work when your child is ready for it
• Consistent routines and respectful guidance that help toddlers feel secure and connected
• Direct communication with teachers via The Band App
New and Two (Ages 2–3 | 24–36 months)
A gentle introduction to school in a small, nurturing environment where twos feel safe, seen, and supported. This program is specifically designed for children who need extra time with transitions, separation anxiety, or are just beginning their independence journey.
What your child will experience:
• A smaller classroom scaled for toddler bodies and attention spans (limited enrollment)
• Gentle support with potty training, separation anxiety, and building confidence
• Beginning socialization skills — sharing, taking turns, using words
• Simple, beautiful Montessori materials that encourage focus and independence
• Open-door policy — parents are always welcome to observe or assist with transitions
• Direct communication with teachers via The Band App for daily updates
Pre-Primary (Ages 2–4)
These are the foundation years. Pre-Primary children are learning how to be part of a community while developing the fine motor, language, and practical life skills that set the stage for academic success. This is where independence really begins to bloom.
What your child will experience:
• Child-centered learning in a mixed-age classroom with older role models
• Continued support with potty training, self-care routines, and emotional regulation
• Practical life activities — pouring, spooning, buttoning, zipping — that build confidence and focus
• Beginning sensorial work, language materials, and early math concepts through hands-on exploration
• Direct interaction with teachers who observe and guide each child's unique path
• Open-door policy for parents and daily communication via The Band App
• Emphasis on socialization, respect for others, and learning to be part of a classroom community
Primary (Ages 3–5)
The heart of the Montessori early childhood experience. Primary students refine the skills they've been building and dive deeper into academic work — reading, writing, math, geography, science — all through hands-on materials and self-directed exploration in a carefully prepared environment.
What your child will experience:
• A full Montessori classroom with language, math, practical life, sensorial, and cultural studies areas
• Independence and concentration highly encouraged through uninterrupted work periods
• More structured and challenging work to prepare for kindergarten and beyond
• Opportunities to be responsible for classroom care, respectful to peers, and contribute to the community
• Individualized activities tailored to each child's developmental readiness and interests
• Teachers who guide decision-making, encourage self-discipline, and model grace and courtesy
• Practical life skills woven throughout the day — from food preparation to conflict resolution

SUMMER CAMP
Our summer program runs the full summer with the same hours as the regular school year (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM). It's a joyful, art-driven experience with themed weeks, hands-on projects, cooking activities, and plenty of outdoor exploration.
What your child will experience:
• Themed programming that alternates each summer (past themes have included nature exploration, world cultures, and creative arts)
• Art-focused projects — painting, sculpting, collage, and more
• Cooking and food preparation activities tied to weekly themes
• Extra indoor and outdoor theme-based activities, field trips, and special guests
• A relaxed, playful atmosphere that balances structure with summer fun
